Hollywood is full of descendants of budding stars, who seem to carry unique talents in their genes. With his mother being an experienced actor and singer, and his father a writer, it’s no surprise Robby Benson eventually followed in their footsteps. More often than not, a passion for something is linked to a source of inspiration. For Whit Johnson, that credit goes to his stepfather, the radio and TV host Dean Edell. Thanks to him, Johnson learned the ins and outs of broadcasting and eventually began his career in 2005 as an evening weekend anchor and reporter.

Since then, Johnson has become most known for his work as an anchor for Good Morning America and ABC World News Tonight. Plus, he found love in his field of work.
