Kim Basinger rose to fame during the 1970s, thanks to her looks that helped her reach the top of the modeling scenes. Even today, her looks are still relevant. Kim is one of the lucky few that has the beauty that can stand the test of time. After gaining success in modeling, she then moved on to the mainstream acting scene and built a substantial amount of successful film and television appearances under her name. She even earned a Golden Globe Award for her character in the 1984 movie, The Natural.

However, things started to go south during the early 1990s when she had a financial breakdown starting from the land she purchased in Georgia. She had problems paying the home mortgage and when things escalated to another level she filed for bankruptcy after things went off hand. Good thing, Basinger was able to regain her foothold, and slowly built her reputation once again.
