Snoop Dogg – Born In 1971

Many of the artists we know often go by a stage name, and these stage names often have an interesting origin story behind them. Throughout his childhood, Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. watched a lot of cartoons and comic strips, like Peanuts. Well, as it turns out, that’s also where he got his nickname and eventual stage name: Snoopy. In fact, even his parents thought he looked like the iconic Peanuts character.

Nowadays, though, it’s no secret we all know Broadus as the world-famous rapper Snoop Dogg. He got his first shot to fame in the music industry in 1992 when he was featured in Dr. Dre’s single Deep Cover. Since then, the Doggfather rapper has released his own records and albums, including Tha Last Meal, Ego Trippin’, and No Limit Top Dogg. He has also garnered even more credits for his stint on movies and shows, including Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party, The Beach Bum, and Dolemite Is My Name.
