Ruth Buzzi – Born 1936

By the looks of it, performing is an art Ruth Buzzi has loved since her childhood. A head cheerleader throughout her high school years, Ruth then spent some time studying acting, dance, voice, and even cosmetology. Suffice to say, these preparations ultimately became significant investments for her eventual career.

Beginning her journey to the spotlight during her late teens, Buzzi’s earlier stints were for commercials, variety shows, and stage productions. After a couple more on-screen appearances, she got her first shot to fame starring in The Garry Moore Show. A few years later, the actress’ popularity soared to greater heights thanks to her stint on Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In. Since then, Buzzi has worked on projects such as Berenstain Bears, Sesame Street, Freaky Friday, and The Villain. Outside of film sets, the actress also enjoys painting and auctioning some of her works for charity.
