CHERYL TIEGS
Cheryl Tiegs got her start in modeling at the age of seventeen, mainly due to the success of the Cole’s ad she did as a senior student. Not too long after, she was scouted by Glamour magazine and sent to Saint Thomas in the Caribbean for a shoot. The project would eventually result in her first Glamour cover. Within the same year, Tiegs would land cover shoots for both Seventeen and Elle. As a newbie in the industry, her success was undoubtedly impressive.
In the years that followed, Tiegs saw similar success. She even made Time Magazine’s cover four different times, including their “All-American Model” cover story in 1978. When her career slowed down, Cheryl went into fashion design—an investment that greatly benefitted her. These days, she is more active in her philanthropic pursuits and raising awareness for environmentally-conscious living.
