SALMA HAYEK
Before becoming one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, Salma Hayek had a pretty prolific career in Mexico. She starred in the telenovela Teresa and later landed a role in the film El Callejon de los Milagros. However, in 1991, she decided to transition to Hollywood, but it would take her a few more years before she was finally able to break into the mainstream. She is best known to American audiences for her roles in From Dusk till Dawn, Desperado, Dogma, and Wild Wild West.
She later got nominated for an Academy Award, a BAFTA, a SAG Award, and a Golden Globe for her performance as the Mexican artist Frida Kahlo in the film Frida. Since then, her investments have focused on producing and directing. In fact, she was the powerhouse that brought Ugly Betty to our TV screens. Apart from that, Salma has also established herself as a fashion icon in the industry.
