BORIS BECKER – BORN 1967

Boris Becker rose to fame as a teenager and is famous worldwide even after retirement. He made Wimbledon his home, winning three Wimbledon Championships and becoming one of the most popular players in the early 1990s. His athleticism and penchant for diving when volleying made his matches exciting to watch, and spectators packed the stands wherever he played.

Becker was born in Leimen, Germany, and began playing tennis at his father Karl-Heinz’s training center. He used to play tennis with Steffi Graf when he was a kid. His exciting triumph there won him great fame and popularity. However, Becker’s post-retirement career has not been without controversy. His work as Novak Djokovic’s coach resulted in one of the most dominant periods in tennis history for any player. During this time, Djokovic won six Grand Slams, and he frequently credits Becker for his achievements.
