We know him best for being a tough-as-nails judge on various talent shows such as The X Factor, American Idol, and the British and American versions of the Got Talent franchise. He is also the founder, principal, and chief executive of the entertainment company Syco.

After some of the success he had in the 80s and 90s as a talent scout, a consultant of the music industry in the UK, and a record producer, Cowell rose to fame in 2001 as a judge on Pop Idol.

It was a show that he and Simon Fuller pitched to ITV Controller of Entertainment Claudia Rosencrantz.

In 2019, he was included in the Sunday Times Rich List, ranking the wealthiest people in the UK. He has investments in some of the world’s biggest acts, including Leona Lewis, Little Mix, Fifth Harmony, Susan Boyle, Noah Cyrus, One Direction, and Westlife. The TV personality is also a generous supporter of various advocacies.
