JIMMY BUFFETT – EST. $650 MILLION

The singer-songwriter is currently one of the wealthiest musicians in the world. Of course, much of the credit goes to his music, often themed with island escapism that speaks to every type of listener, both young and old. He is also quite a prolific writer and has three best-sellers, including Tales from Margaritaville and Where Is Joe Merchant? His children’s books are just as successful. He wrote Trouble Dolls and The Jolly Mon with his daughter Savannah.

His investments in restaurant chains have also proved very lucrative. Jimmy launched his first restaurant in Key West, Florida, in 1985. He is the owner of Margaritaville Café and co-developed the restaurant chain, Cheeseburger in Paradise. Extending this food theme, another part of Margaritaville Holdings is Margaritaville foods, which produces chicken dishes, salsa shrimp dishes, guacamole, and chips. Jimmy also makes beer in collaboration with the brewing company Anheuser-Busch under his brewing label LandShark Lager.
