MICHAEL PHELPS – EST. $60 MILLION
We know that athletes, such as basketball players, can easily make millions for every season, so this begs the question—does this apply to swimmers as well? The answer is YES. Just ask Michael Fred Phelps II, or Michael Phelps for short, a former competitive swimmer who also holds the record for being the most decorated Olympian in the organization’s history. Michael holds the most medals of any Olympic athlete in history, with 28 medals during his career.
At the age of 28, he also holds the title of the oldest individual Olympic swimmer to win a gold medal and the first male swimmer to compete on five Olympic teams. Not only was he able to overcome his depression and beat the stigma against ADHD, but he has also inspired many. Now retired, his investments mostly go to philanthropic causes, focusing on becoming healthier through swimming. In 2017, he also became a board member of Medibio.
