For one, just look at Cassandra Peterson.

At a young age, she was already fond of all things horror. For her start in the entertainment industry, her first gigs were as a dancer and minor roles in movies. After a while, however, Peterson achieved instant fame thanks to her portrayal of the iconic vampire lady, Elvira, Mistress of the Dark. Along with her hosting work in Elvira’s Movie Macabre, the actress brought the character to other entertainment mediums, even video games! Besides this, Peterson has also starred as different characters in projects such as Pee-wee’s Big Adventure, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and All About Evil.
