ANDREW GARFIELD – BORN 1983
After being cast as Peter Parker in a relaunch of the blockbuster Spider-Man franchise, Andrew Garfield catapulted from relative obscurity to Hollywood prominence.
After finding fame as a stage performer in London, he made his cinematic debut in the American war film Lions for Lambs. He later starred in the movie Boy A, based on British novelist Jonathan Trigell’s best-selling novel of the same name.
Garfield rose to international prominence in 2012 after starring in the film The Amazing Spider-Man as the lead superhero. The flick was a huge box office triumph, so he reprised his credit in the 2014 sequel The Amazing Spider-Man 2. It became another victory and the year’s ninth highest-grossing film. Following that, he starred in Hacksaw Ridge, for which he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role.
