LYNDA CARTER

For many fans of the Marvel heroine, Lynda Carter will always be Wonder Woman. She took on the mantle of Diana Prince back in 1975 and kept the role until 1979. Prior to becoming known for this role, however, she was actually actively participating in beauty pageants. Thanks to her intelligence and beauty, Carter was crowned Miss World USA in 1971. When she competed during the Miss World pageant during the same year, she finished within the Top 15.

It might also surprise some to learn that in 1970, she actually auditioned and got to sing as part of The Garfin Gathering tour. While her singing stint with the group was brief, it became an excellent investment for her career. Most recently, she became part of the Warner Bros. / DC Comics show Supergirl, portraying the role of President Olivia Marsdin. The series currently airs on the CW.
