DAME JULIE ANDREWS

Dame Julie Andrews has had one of the most enduring careers in the industry. She made her debut on Broadway back in 1954 when she starred in The Boy Friend. Before this, however, she was already a child performer in the West End. It goes without saying that Andrews has had plenty of experience working in different formats, whether in film, TV, or theater. With the degree of talent she has, the UK even touted her as “Britain’s Youngest Prima Donna.”

During the 60s, she focused more on doing films and landed roles in Torn Curtain, The Tamarind Seed, Modern Millie, The Americanization of Emily, and Duet for One. For her role in The Sound of Music as Maria Von Trapp, she was awarded a Golden Globe for Best Actress in Motion Picture Comedy or Musical. Currently, you can see more of her work in the Netflix series Bridgerton.
