Ronald William Howard, or Ron Howard for short, is an American actor, director, and producer who became well-known as a child actor in The Twilight Zone. As the son of actress Jean Speegle Howard and director Rance Howard, it was expected that Ron would venture into the same path. In the ’60s, he gained further prominence for his role as Opie Taylor in the hit TV series The Andy Griffith Show.

In 1974, Ron officially became a household name when he was given acting credits for the role of Richie Cunningham in the show Happy Days.

He made his final appearance as an actor in the TV movie Return to Mayberry in 1986. His most proficient work was when he was a co-producer for the movie A Beautiful Mind.
